Unfortunately a large number of young male drivers don't respect the dangers of driving too fast, whether it's to impress friends and girlfriends or simply the enjoyment of the adrenaline rush when driving fast.

Many drivers especially the newly qualified don't appreciate the dangers of rural driving and most have not had enough training in the 'principles of cornering' and driving at high speeds in rural surroundings. The most common cause of serious injury or indeed death is when a driver loses control on a bend and ploughs into a tree at high speed and very often it's the front passenger who comes off worse.
I strongly recommend that all new drivers should take a few extra lessons in driving on rural roads which include safe cornering and overtaking.
